3. Define ecosystem and food chain. Discuss with examples the significance of ecological studies in the contemporary world and highlight some of the measures taken in India to restore ecological balance.( 8+8+4)
4.Explain the relation between plate movements and generation of tsunamis with examples. Highlight the different types of changes that can be induced by plate movements on the ocean floor. 10+10
5. Briefly discuss the consequences of deforestation. Explain the difference between social forestry and joint forest management with examples of their operation in India. 8+12
